ELSA
ELSAs are emotional literacy support assistants. They are teaching assistants who have had special training from educational psychologists to support the emotional development of children and young people in school.
Our current ELSAs at Darnhall Primary School are Mrs Kelsall, Mrs Swift and Mrs Sumner. Mrs Clarke is also training to be an EY ELSA.
Each session delivered by the ELSAs is tailored to pupils, as each child is different and will require specific intervention to meet their individual targets.
Sessions take place in afternoons and last for approximately 30minutes. They are once every week for a 6 week period initially.
