Click on this link to play some great games to support your learning. Don't forget to keep practising telling the time on your clocks and watches at home

Year 3 pupils will learn their 4's and 8's and practise 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's.

Year 4 will learn their 6's, 7's, 9's, 11's and 12's and practise the rest. Year 4 will have their online times tables test this half term so keep practising!

Here is a link for any parents wishing to know more about the test.

Please practise daily using the Times Tables RockStars game on your IPads. If you have lost your log-in or can't access the game please just let your teacher know and we can re-set it for you.

Each Monday we will hand out ten spellings for your child to practise at home. We also practise them regularly in the classroom but every little helps. The children will be tested on Friday and awarded dojos if they achieve 10 out of 10.

This is a great website for practising spellings on your tablets at home. I have attached the Year One and Two and the Year Three and Four spelling lists as well if you want some extra practise. Weekly spellings will be placed on the class dojo every Monday. If you need a paper copy please just ask.

PE kit is navy shorts, joggers or skort and a pale blue TShirt. Kit is available from school. Please contact the office if you would like to order some.

This half term we will be covering history objectives through the topic 'What makes a good leader? We will be exloring Ancient Egypt; researching pharoes, asking and answering questions about why and how the pyramids were built, using different sources of evidence to learn about significant leaders, using chronology to place events around the time of the ancient world and lots more! There will also be lots of writing opportunities in English too.

Homework will be handed out on a Thursday and returned on a Monday. It will alternate between English and Maths. Over half term holidays we will offer optional topic and theme based practical activity homeworks.

This half term we be consolidating our learning from the year  through experiments, investigations and research.

We will be continuing with our reading challenge as it has been so successful.  Pick one of these activites a week, or more if you like and you will earn 5 reading stamps for your worm. 36 stamps and you get a free book from the vending machine. Only one rule - send a picture to your dojo portfolio and have fun!

'Mug and a Mag' - fill a mug with your favourite drink and find a cosy spot to have a quiet read.

'Tues your favourite' - Choose your favourite book and re-read it . There are always parts you don't remember of missed last time.

'Website Wednesday' - Have read online, use your phone, laptop, Ipad, or kindle and have read of some facts, maybe even a newspaper!

'Thumb through Thursday' - When you've read a really good book write a little review for your friends at school.

'Flashlight Friday' - Make a den and curl up with a torch and your favourite book.

A big well done to all those who have sent lots of pictures and have already earned new books and reading buddies. Keep it up!

All children are making super progress in reading. For those doing whole class shared reading we will be learning a whole range of new reading skills using 'The illustrated Atlas of Britain and Ireland'. If your child is on the RWI reading scheme you will notice they are now bringing home the next coloured band from the scheme. Please read the books they bring home from the scheme and also ones of their personal choice. Talk to your child about their book to improve their  comprehension skills. It's great to see that so many of you have logged onto the new GoRead app and are busy logging all the books that you read at home. Please continue to do this as reading is the key to learning and such an important life skill.
