Spellings

Each Monday we will hand out ten spellings for your child to practise at home. We also practise them regularly in the classroom but every little helps. The children will be tested on Friday and awarded dojos if they achieve 10 out of 10.

This is a great website for practising spellings on your tablets at home. I have attached the Year One and Two and the Year Three and Four spelling lists as well if you want some extra practise.

Reading

If your child is on the Read Write Inc reading scheme they will be continuing with the programme from where they were assessed before half term. They will contiue to have daily phonics in the morning, bringing home books every third day and also books of their choice. We have a new online reading login to record our daily reads called GoRead. Children will also take part in a whole class shared read sessions and we will be working on the book called Iron man. This is a great book for devloping a rich and varied vocabulary and devloping our understanding of texts.
